Price Match

We will match any advertised price on products that we carry in our store. Just send us a link of the item and we will be happy to match it. This is only valid on other Canadian websites or businesses. We cannot match any price that goes below the guidelines that the manufacturer has set as we would be breaking our contract with them.

How many diapers do I need?

First you have to look at the age of your baby, a newborn is going to go through more diapers in a day then a toddler will. Typically the average for newborns and younger babies is 10-12 a day and 6-8 for an older baby or toddler. A good starting amount would be between 18-24 diapers with having to wash every other day. My recomendation is to buy a few different types of diapers to try them out first and see what you like best and then stock up on those ones.

What else will I need to start?

Wetbags- you will need at least one hanging wetbag or a diaper pail to put the used diapers in. Also a couple of smaller wetbags for outings and the daycare.

Liners- either fleece or disposable ones to make clean ups easier and to keep stains off of the diapers.

Detergent- diaper friendly detergent that contains no enzymes or brightners. A good choice is Country Save.

What are the different types of diapers?

Prefolds- these are the most economical choice out there. They are a multi-layer rectangle piece of cotton or organic cotton fabric that have extra layers sewn in the middle for added absorbancy. You can fold it into thirds and lay flat in a diaper cover or use different fold techniques that require a snappi and then use the diaper cover.

Fitteds- these are shaped like a disposable and come in super soft fabric choices like bamboo, hemp or cotton and fasten with snaps or velcro. They have elastic around the leggings and the waist and are great at containing messes. Fitteds also require a diaper cover.

All in Ones or AIO- these are most like a disposable, very Dad and babysitter friendly. They have a waterproof outer layer with a fleece lining that wicks wetness away and the absorbing layer is sewn right in. No stuffing required but some do come with a pocket opening so you can add extra absorbancy for those heavy wetters or when using overnight. These tend to be a trimmer fit.

Pockets- these have a waterproof outer layer with a fleece lining and a pocket opening. You can choose what kind of insert you use, either bamboo, hemp or microfiber and how much absorbancy you need. Depending on what insert you use, these can be a trimmer fit as well.

Onesize- these are diapers that are made to fit from newborn till potty training. They average for babies from 7-35 lbs, this is a great option as you only have to buy one size for the duration that your child is in diapers.
